Performing a factory reset on iPad will revert it to the original operating system version it had when you first bought it, and it will remove all your personal data, apps, and settings. To do this in a secure way, first make a backup of your important files either to iCloud or to a computer, because all the data will be wiped out totally. Go to Settings General, Transfer or Reset iPad Erase All Content and Settings on the iPad, enter your passcode and Apple ID password if required, and complete the task.
